Currently, Neeve solutions are managed in two portals: the Neeve Portal for general management tasks and the Secure Edge Portal for more advanced management of nodes, networks, users, tools, and services. This following table outlines the different use cases for each portal.
Management area | Neeve Portal | Secure Edge Portal |
|---|
Hierarchy | Use cases: All hierarchy management Create portfolios, nested portfolios, and sites Move sites between portfolios
Limitations: You cannot move a portfolio once created. You can only assign one node per site. Deleting a portfolio deletes all associated sites. Deleting a site deletes all associated nodes and endpoints.
| Hierarchy is not available in the Secure Edge Portal Limitations: Hierarchy created in the Neeve Portal is not reflected in Secure Edge. Instead, resources are organized in a flat structure. Creating child organizations within Secure Edge is not supported for orgs associated with a Neeve Portal instance.
|
Nodes | Use cases: Provision and launch an Edge Node, either manually or with the onboarding workflow Use the onboarding workflow to configure networks, endpoints, and endpoint connections during node provisioning. Delete an Edge Node
Limitations: | Use cases: Provision and launch Virtual Edge Nodes and Cloud Connectors Advanced node configuration: Create and manage clusters Configure alerts Run services
Limitations: Multi-NIC diagrams are not presented accurately in the Neeve Portal. Clusters and HA nodes are not visible in the Neeve Portal. Services are not visible in the Neeve Portal.
|
Networks | Use cases: Onboard a LAN networks onto nodes Associate a single Cloud Connector to a node Modify and delete a network Configure full-network access in Remote Access Agent
Limitations: | Use cases: Map multiple Cloud Connectors per network Apply security policy/firewall rules Static routing: to access segmented networks on LAN networks Inter-LAN routing: to route traffic between two networks on the same node Cloud hairpinning: route traffic between two nodes via a Cloud Connectors. Advanced features:
Limitations: WAN-HA diagrams are not presented accurately in the Neeve Portal. Any networks configured in the Secure Edge Portal are: Contact Neeve Support to enable this functionality.
|
Endpoints | Use cases: Onboard endpoints and endpoint connections: manually or with the Discover Endpoint feature Modify and delete endpoints and endpoint connections Manage user access to endpoints and endpoint connections
Limitations: Cannot apply HTTPS advanced rules (contact Neeve Support for a workaround). Cannot bulk assign users to endpoints or endpoint connections. The first TCP connection on a network can take up to 5 minutes to fully onboard (Launcher tile will be grey to reflect in-progress status).
| Use cases: |
Users | Use cases (Neeve Portal users only): Add, modify, disable, and delete user profiles Assign Admin and Access User permissions to resources Manage inherited access through hierarchy
Limitations: Neeve Portal users are not visible in the Secure Edge Portal (and vice versa).. Bulk user management currently unavailable. Scheduled access currently unavailable. Portfolio Admins and Site Admins cannot associate existing users into their scope.
| Use cases (Secure Edge users only): Add, modify, and delete users. Enable multifactor authentication (MFA) Apply user labels Bulk user management
Limitations: |
