Creating and managing portfolios

Prev Next

This article explains how Org Admins can add and manage portfolios in the Remote Access Portal. Once an Org Admin creates a portfolio and assigns it to a Portfolio Admin, that Portfolio Admin has administrator permissions over users, devices, groups, and other resources connected to the specific sites in that portfolio. Portfolio Admins can view and manage only the resources associated with their portfolios. (For more information about different Admin roles in Remote Access, see User roles.)

Note

A site can only belong to one portfolio at a time. If you add a site to a new portfolio, it will be removed from the organization’s default portfolio

Create a portfolio

  1. On the Remote Access Portal left menu, select the building icon at the bottom.

  2. The Portfolio Management page opens. Select + Add New to create a new portfolio.

  3. In the Add New Portfolio dialog, assign the applicable sites and, optionally, Portfolio Admin(s).

  4. Select Add Portfolio. You will see a confirmation screen.

Modify or delete a portfolio

  1. On the Remote Access Portal left menu, select the building icon at the bottom.

  2. On the Portfolio Management page, select the portfolio to modify. There are two tabs/views:

    • Hierarchy: Displays each site under its parent portfolio. You can expand each section to see user details.

    • List All: Shows all sites under your management. For example, a Portfolio Admin would see only the sites that are members of their portfolio(s).

  3. To modify a portfolio, select the portfolio to open the Portfolio Details dialog box:

    • From the List All view, click on the portfolio name in the portfolio column.

    • From the Hierarchy view, select the carrot > to the right of the portfolio row.

  4. Make the necessary changes or select Remove Portfolio to delete it.

  5. Review and confirm your changes, then select Save Changes.

Note:

If you delete a portfolio or remove sites from a portfolio, those sites will automatically return to the organization’s default portfolio.
